Biography:
As a child I used to watch the news in the evening and love seeing the camera man. I thought he is so powerful he is the one who delivers the images I am watching right now, it's thanks to him I get to learn what happens and where. And I wanted to grow up to be just like him.
I was born in socialist Czechoslovakia with 4 siblings and incredibly dedicated parents, I grew up in a house that was built in 1550. I used to love looking at people through key holes and sneaking into the movie theater that was right next door to my house. I had a job delivering newspapers since I was 11, but owning a camera was then only a dream for me.
So when I traveled to Canada at the age of 19 and started working as a nanny, I used my first paycheck to purchase a beautiful silver and black Olympus OM1.
Camera has been my best companion ever since, opening doors, offering me opportunities, winning me competitions, being my support and my favorite toy.
Photography has incredible power, it gives me the opportunity to show the world how I see it, how I want to see it and tell stories. But sometimes also create intrigue and visual confusion to get others to think, feel, pay attention. Creating photographs is my passion, camera is my tool, photography is my art.
