Jayne Eldred
Katoomba, Australia
Biography:
I'm 55, and started my journey in photography, just on a year ago, after becoming inspired by my (then) 18-year-old daughter, who had taken up photography the year before. After being very home-bound the past few years, due to my daughter being ill, we had found something we both loved and could share. Photography became the means for us to move beyond being circumscribed by illness.
In the time I've been involved with photography, I've often been heard to say that " ... photography puts more life into life ...", and that has been my experience. It is like an awakening to what is around us. It enables us to "see" in a way that perhaps we haven't previously - both the photographer and the audience.
I think photography is a powerful means of expression and creativity, and is by it's nature, uplifting. We can share experiences that are enriching and evoke feeling in others by doing so. Photography weaves a thread that connects us - to nature, to the world around us and to each other.
We live in the world heritage listed National Park of the Blue Mountains, in New South Wales, Australia. We are very fortunate to be in the midst of such a stunning environment, surrounded by raw and rugged beauty, with vast panoramic views and stunning fauna. A magnificent place to be co-habiting with nature and able to enjoy such splendour with a photographic eye.
I hope you enjoy my images.
