Topping Haggerty

Biography:
Topping Haggerty, known for her improvisational theater projects, also likes to take lots of snaps. Her subjects are usually friends who don't want their pictures taken, critters and critter-bits that cross her path, and oddly placed lost objects in the world. She is always on the lookout for a good image that tells a story, and she loves it when each person viewing the photo sees a completely different story then she does. She uses a regular little 'civilian' camera because, well, for one, she has no money, and for two, she knows she would over-think the photo taking process if she had all those lovely seductive buttons, bells, and whistles to play with. Topping often uses her photos to inspire and inform her collage works and ink drawings. Topping is a Cal-Yorker (San Francisco and New York City) who currently resides in Austin, TX.
